Athlete Spotlight: Rising Muay Thai Star Fahed Haidar

At just 25 years old, Fahed has already established himself as one of Australia's most exciting Muay Thai prospects. Competing in the fiercely competitive 55–57kg division, the Wollongong-based fighter has built a reputation for his technical skill, relentless work ethic, and unwavering commitment to his craft.
But like every great athlete, the journey started with a single step.
Finding His Passion
Fahed's introduction to Muay Thai came eight years ago. What began as an interest quickly became an obsession.
Showing natural talent and an eagerness to learn, Fahed progressed through the ranks at an impressive pace. After only eight months of training, he stepped into the ring for his first competitive fight—a moment that would set the course for everything that followed.
Many athletes spend years building the confidence to compete. Fahed embraced the challenge early.
Since then, countless hours of training, sparring, conditioning, recovery, and sacrifice have shaped him into the athlete he is today.
Building a Champion
Fahed trains out of the highly respected Fightworks Gym under the guidance of coach Mitchell Brisbane.
Fightworks has built a reputation for producing elite fighters, and the partnership between athlete and coach has proven to be a powerful combination. Together, they've developed a game plan centred around technical excellence, discipline, and continuous improvement.
Success in combat sports is never accidental. Behind every victory is an enormous amount of unseen work—early mornings, late nights, hard sparring sessions, strict nutrition, and a commitment to showing up day after day.
Those are the qualities that have helped Fahed rise through the Australian Muay Thai ranks.
Making His Mark on the National Stage
Competing under some of the world's most respected sanctioning bodies, including WBC Muay Thai and WMC, Fahed has consistently tested himself against high-level opposition.
His biggest achievement to date came in April 2026, when he captured the WMC Super Bantamweight Australian Championship, a milestone that firmly established him as one of the country's leading fighters in his division.
Winning an Australian title is no small feat. It represents years of dedication, sacrifice, and commitment to excellence. It also signals that Fahed is no longer simply a promising prospect—he's now a legitimate contender with his sights set on much bigger goals.
